The population of Blackwood may not be sufficient to warrant the introduction of a fourth supermarket.
The site may be too small for the required carparking to cater for a supermarket
There is a high liklihood of carparking overspill into surrounding residential streets.
Carparking overspill into surrounding residential streets is not practicable given council restrictions on parking on both sides of the road in the event of fire, and to allow free access and egress of emergency vehicles.

This location seems too far from the centre of Blackwood.
A critical planning issue impacting the Blackwood commercial precinct and ease of shopping is the dispersement of shops along the main thoroughfare rather than concentration of retail in a well designed centre with all required facilities.
There is a risk to the viability of existing businesses in the centre of Blackwood if development continues in this dispersed manner and shoppers are drawn away from the central precinct
